The Chung Hwa Website, which sprang to life in 1998, has taken another leap forward in its ongoing evolution. In line with the school's trilingual policy, the site now exists in Malay, English and Mandarin, enabling it to disseminate the school policies, event calendars, student life activities and alumni information to a wider variety of audiences. Also, with the subject department websites featuring the lesson plans of individual teachers, and the school's e-mail facility, a speedier and more efficient communication between the general public and the school has now become a reality.

In this era of rapid scientific and technological advancement, our focus should be to create innovative ways of integrating information and communication technology (ICT) into the curriculum, to complement the conventional methods of teaching. Over the years, in response to the directives from the Ministry of Education, the school's ICT facilities have been substantially upgraded. Having begun Computer Studies lessons in Secondary classes in the 80's and in the Primary and Kindergarten in the 90's, Chung Hwa presently has one of the most extensive ICT programmes in the state. Our facilities in this regard include separate Computer Labs for the Kindergarten, Primary and the Secondary, a well-equipped Multi-Media Language Laboratory, an Audio-Visual Aids room, a student Cyber Centre, a Staff Computer room, Internet and Intranet facilities and fully computerized Administrative Offices.

I would like to reiterate at this juncture that, we are grateful to the magnanimous support and recognition given by the Governments of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and of His Majesty's predecessor and beloved late father, Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddie, in the establishment, and the continued development of this school to its present state. The memory of the gracious visit of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah to the school last year to officiate its 80th Anniversary still lingers in our minds with pride and gratitude. The Chinese Community is indeed gratified that the school can achieve the aims of its founding fathers to preserve their culture and language for future generations at the same time as it fulfils the Sultanate's educational aspirations.
